A look at the ratings from Saturday’s win over Hearts.
WES FODERINGHAM – 7
Didn’t have an awful lot to do. Lafferty’s free kick was pretty much unstoppable, and he had a save to make just after that. That aside, his distribution was solid as always.
JAMES TAVERNIER – 8
Tavernier had played poorly in midweek, but was very good on Saturday. Linked up well with both Candeias and Windass who alternated in front of him. His cross for Miller’s second goal was a great ball, yet another assist for the right back. Defensively solid as well.
ROSS McCRORIE – 7
Another strong performance from the 19 year old centre half. Didn’t let Lafferty or Goncalves bully him. His only real mistake led to the free kick which Hearts scored, but it would be beyond harsh to blame him for that. Looks very comfortable at this level already.
DANNY WILSON – 7
Considering this was his first league start of the season, Wilson played well. He seems to prefer being the leader at the back, and as always his passing helped with our style of play.
DECLAN JOHN – 7
John offered a good attacking outlet throughout the game. Despite Hearts targeting him with any long balls, he never looked uncomfortable in defence. He’ll have better games, but that performance as an average would stand him in good stead.

DANIEL CANDEIAS – 7
As always, Candeias worked tirelessly on and off the ball. His direct play didn’t always come off, but it meant that the full back opposing him couldn’t relax at any point. A couple of long shots and decent crosses came to nothing, though. Given his disappointment from midweek, he can be pleased with how he played.
RYAN JACK – 7
Jack competed well in midfield. He was only exposed by a runner once, and helped us move the ball quickly on the break. No flashpoints or special moments, but certainly a more than capable performance.
JASON HOLT – 8
Holt put in a power of running, and really drove the team forward. The game called for attitude and determination, and he epitomised that. Last season, he seemed to play safe a lot, but in his performances so far he contributing to attacking play more this season. A good follow-up to his performance in midweek.
JOSH WINDASS – 7
Windass had a bit of an inconsistent game. His running would get him in good positions but his final ball wouldn’t be good enough. He scored a nice goal at a good time of the game, though. In previous games, he’s got in good positions and missed great chances. Hopefully, his goal here will see him improve in upcoming games.
KENNY MILLER – 9
Two goals and an assist – not much more you can ask for! Before the game, Murty suggested that Miller had a point to prove. He certainly did just that.
In the first half, he had some loose passes which broke down good attacking situations. His movement for both of his goals was fantastic though. After his first, he seemed to improve a lot, and his ball through for Windass to score was excellent. Certainly played his way back into the team.
ALFREDO MORELOS – 8
If not for Miller, Morelos would have been our top performer. He stood up to the physical challenge really well. His link-up and movement was excellent. Didn’t have too many chances of his own, but really hurt Hearts with his performance. Goals will come back soon, but these are the games which prove he’s a very good player.
All the subs came on really late with no chance to impact the game.
