Rangers manager Steven Gerrard will go into the new season knowing there are certain areas of his Gers squad that desperately need upgraded of reinforcement.
Whether it’s the lack of outright central defenders, a shortage of quality in depth in attack or the need to add a midfielder who can dictate the tempo of a game, there’s few areas on the pitch the the Gers are particularly comfortable for options.

There’s no need to simply wield the axe and put McGregor out to pasture, but there needs to be serious thought given to the long-term position and ensuring whoever is tasked with replacing McGregor is ready to step right into the side.
It doesn’t matter whether it’s Wes Foderingham, Robby McCrorie or someone new brought in over the summer, but there needs to be serious planning done for the not-too-distant future.
