Following on from Rangers routine 3-0 victory over Fraserbough in the Scottish Cup on Wednesday night, all eyes and attention now switches back to league action and the visit of Hibernian to Ibrox on Saturday.
Rangers enter the match sitting in third place, three points behind Aberdeen with a game in hand. Hibernian currently occupy forth, five points behind Rangers, playing one game more.
Here are 5 storylines to follow on Saturday at Ibrox.
1 WHAT FORMATION WILL MURTY DEPLOY
Murty now has a serious selection headache for the first time in his tenure, the biggest question without doubt is just how he accommodates the players into the line up.
Cummings and Morelos will surely without doubt both start, the question is then will this see Rangers go with two up top or Cummings pushed out to the left-hand side or just off the Colombian.
The issue then quite simply becomes a matter of numbers. Who misses out, with Murphy a stick on to start, Windass and Candaias have shown impressive form in recent weeks, both grabbing goals in the last two matches.
It could well be Sean Goss, who himself has impressed that misses out, in order for Rangers to go a more with a more attack minded approach.
Cummings, already a huge fan favorite will without any doubt be eager to showcase his skills to his former employers, with it just what they are missing.
2 CAN WINDASS KEEP UP HIS FORM
Anyone has watched Rangers in recent weeks will tell you that Josh Windass has struggled, especially in the last match vs Ross County to recapture his highly impressive form of pre winter break.
That said Wednesday night seen the midfielder grab himself hat-trick to cap off a terrific individual display. Rangers fans will be hoping this has given Windass the confidence boost he needed.
A Windass in form can have devastating effect on the opposition, one that Hibs are all to aware of, hopefully on Saturday we will see the Josh Windass of Wednesday rather than last Sunday.
3 WHAT WILL BE MORELOS MIND SET
Speculation was rife right up to the end of the transfer window that Rangers could be about to lose the front man, with reported interest from teams in China.
I am not calling into any sort of question the forwards attitude, however it would be naive to think that it will have no effect whatsoever on the player, he is only human after all.
I’m sure the last few days will have been a roller coaster of emotions, no doubt he will be desperate to just get on the pitch and play, showing us all the undoubted talent he posses.
The Chinese super league window does not shut for another month, so it will be interesting to witness if all the transfer talk has had any impact, positive or negative on the player.
One thing I am sure of is the fantastic reception he will receive from the Ibrox faithful.
4 WILL THE REFEREE MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE GAME
The last encounter at Ibrox between these two sides witnessed one if not the worst refereeing display I have ever witnessed, Hibs were allowed to get away with acts and challenges that would not look out of place in last Sunday’s Royal Rumble.
The man in the middle will have a important role in keeping order on Saturday, we all know what Hibs game plan will be, so a strong and fair referee is a must.
5 WHEN WILL LENNON BE SENT TO THE STAND
This is just a matter of when and not If to me. The Hibernian manager simply can’t help himself get involved in situations he really should stay well clear off.
I’m sure like myself many of you had a chuckle when after the recent defeat by rivals Hearts, Lennon accused Craig Levein of showing disrespect to himself and Hibernian, pot kettle black anyone ?.
I think we will score early on, this will only lead to infuriate Lennon, who will no doubt cause some sort of problem as he always does on the Ibrox touchline.
