Ovie Ejaria has been sent back to Liverpool after Rangers released a statement saying the two clubs has reached an agreement.
The tricky playmaker was a prominent member of the squad, so this one came as a surprise. Ejaria, 21, played a total of 28 times for Rangers this season.
He also played in plenty of big games. From Celtic at Parkhead to numerous European nights under the lights.
The club have said he returns to Liverpool as he’d struggled to settle at Rangers. The midfielder deleted all association with the club on social media in a passive aggressive move last week.
Now, he’s out of the club and away from Ibrox. But the fact Ejaria deleted anything Rangers related from his social media suggests he has an upset with the club. Whatever that is, I don’t know.
Some think he has returned to Liverpool as he struggled with the pressure and expectation at Ibrox.
There have also been claims from some quarters that he couldn’t adapt to the physicality of the league.
Will we miss him? Well, he wasn’t showing up in games. He hid on the pitch and clearly didn’t have the confidence to play to the best of his ability. Ovie Ejaria is a talented boy, you can’t deny that.
Liverpool or Ejaria also can’t deny that he was given an opportunity at Ibrox.
But now, it seems the midfielder’s association with Rangers has come to an end.
Fleetingly, we wish him all the best with his career in the future.
