Rangers fans will be hoping news that a viral video of a young fan celebrating Ryan Jack’s winner against Celtic last December serves as a good luck omen for the team today.

Young fan Angelo Chapman, who was only 19 months old at the time, made headlines last year when a video of him celebrating Ryan Jack’s strike in the 1-0 win last season went viral across the footballing world.

Running around the room with his arms aloft, it’s an iconic piece of footage and was reshared by former NBA superstar Rex Chapman (the name is a coincidence as far as I can tell) and has since gone viral in the US.

Since Chapman shared the viral Rangers footage it’s been viewed over 2m times and been retweeted by the likes of actor William Baldwin, former USA footballer Eric Wynalda and American reporter Steve Wyche.

Needless to say, the outstanding amount of exposure this gives the club is hugely beneficial to Rangers.

Across America, people will be being introduced to the video and Angelo for the first time and digging a little deeper to find out just why he’s so passionate, they’ll find Rangers.

Rangers are also well aware of how powerful the video is and rewarded the club’s youngest global ambassador last season for his effort.

After the youngster’s video first went viral, the Ibrox side invited the young Rangers fan and his family to the Hummel Training Centre to meet Ryan Jack.

The club then turned the entire thing into an adorable feature for their social media channels [Rangers] which is sure to put a smile on your face.

With Rangers set to face Celtic at Celtic Park this afternoon, let’s hope Angelo’s repeating the video come 2 pm today.

We can count this as a good luck omen, right?
