Celtic‘s descent into the shambles known as the ‘Banter Years’ continued this weekend to much amusement from the Rangers support as Parkhead fans went wild over keeper Joe Hart making a simple save then taking a goal kick quickly – and Bluenoses were absolutely loving their latest attempts to cling to something that makes them believe they have a good team.

Rangers fans will remember exactly what it was like when we were celebrating bits of mediocrity and thinking it was the latest sign we’d turned a corner, only to suffer a kick in the gut a week or two later when we’d go and do something like have an EGM in a wee tent on the pitch at Ibrox.

So when one Celtic fan site shared a clip of Hart making a save then ‘springing right back up’ to take the resulting goal kick, alongside the caption ‘love this from Joe Hart’, Rangers fans were quick to pile on and make the most of it.

It’s the latest in a line of really weird things to celebrate that Celtic fans have taken to celebrating recently, like the ‘generating more in the transfer market than Rangers’ trophy they recently won and the ‘Kris Ajer made a no-look pass in a 4-1 Old Firm defeat’ cup so the ‘our keeper made a save then took a goal kick’ shield to complete the famous treble will probably see them have an open-top bus parade through the east end.

While Rangers fans happy to see Steven Gerrard’s side back at the top of the Premiership following their 2-1 win over St. Johnstone on Saturday, they couldn’t resist poking some fun at their biggest rivals as the lurch from one shambles to the next.

Here are some of the comments from Rangers fans on Twitter after Joe Hart *checks notes* made a save:
