The signage is up on Rangers' new club shop at St Enoch Square

In November, the exciting news emerged that Rangers were constructing a new club shop. Located in St Enoch Square in the City Centre, it would be the only one of its kind outside of the Ibrox superstore.

On Wednesday, it became clear that Elite, the organisation seemingly charged with running the premises, had wasted no time.

Passersby, noticed that signage had already gone up, with the store’s interior looking close to completion.

There is no sign of an announcement on an official launch date. However, with the club crest already proudly displayed, it appears to be imminent. The Scottish Sun have reported that it could open as early as Saturday.

From a commercial point of view, it would make sense for the doors to be opened in time for the Christmas rush.

That way, Gers fans across the city will have time to descend on St Enoch’s for Rangers themed presents.

Fans certainly liked the look of the shop’s set up:

The size of the club and its fanbase guarantees this shop will be a success, and it shows the progress that has been made in recent times.

Its opening will also bring some symbolic parity to the City Centre, with Celtic’s long established Argyle Street premises nearby.

It is yet to be confirmed whether the shop will be a permanent fixture or not. However, either way, this is a start. Rangers will have an official presence in Glasgow this Christmas.
