Former Rangers striker Kris Boyd believes the Light Blues are in a “good position” when it comes to the reported interest in Alfredo Morelos; insisting the Light Blues don’t need to sell the Colombian.
Sevilla are the most recent club linked with Morelos, although it seems that he’s been linked with the Ibrox exit during every transfer window he’s been at the club.
While Boyd concedes that every player has their price, he is confident Rangers have plenty of room to negotiate if they do decide to cash in on Morelos.
“It’s been every single transfer window since he’s arrived that he’s basically going to leave,” Boyd said [Sky Sports].
“There will be a day that he does but I think Rangers are in a good position. It’s not a case that they have to sell.
“There’s obviously room to go an negotiate with teams. Every single player, especially in Scotland, has a price tag.
“If somebody wants to meet that valuation then I’m sure Rangers will speak about it.
“But as it stands, he’s a Rangers player and I’m sure he will return to pre-season ready to go and attack the Champions League qualifiers and Scottish Premiership.”
Unless Rangers receive crazy money, Morelos should stay at Ibrox
Rangers selling Morelos in the summer transfer window is now one of those stories that you can set your watch by, and this year is no different.
However, unless someone comes in offering silly money for El Bufalo, the Light Blues need to resist the temptation to cash in quickly.
Morelos’ contract situation complicates things a little more but there’s far more to gain by keeping Morelos than there is by selling him.
