Rangers midfielder Steven Davis is being lined up for a move to Motherwell this summer as he looks to be headed for the exit at Ibrox.
The veteran midfielder is out of contract this summer and, according to the Daily Mail, the Steelmen want to add him to their ranks as they prepare for European football next season.
Davis admitted after Saturday’s Scottish Cup final win over Hearts that he wasn’t sure what the future holds as he waits for talks with Rangers, saying: “I really don’t know [if he’ll remain a Rangers player].
“We just said we’d speak after this. It’s been an emotional week with the Europa League final. This doesn’t make up for it because it was a real good opportunity for us, but we’re delighted to win this. Then Jimmy Bell’s funeral yesterday.
“I’m delighted we could finish on a high. We’ll sit down next week or so and see where everything is.”
Plenty of reported interest in Davis if his Rangers career is at an end
As well as Motherwell, St Mirren have been named a possible destination for the Northern Ireland captain and it seems he won’t be short of offers if he does leave Ibrox.
While many Rangers fans would like to see him stick around another season, including Ally McCoist, Gio van Bronckhorst may want to free up some space in his squad for new signings.
If Davis does end up at the likes of Motherwell or St Mirren, they’ll have got themselves an absolute Rolls Royce of a player.
Any side with Steven Davis in their midfield will be far better for it – although it would be weird to see him play against Rangers.
