On Monday afternoon, Rotherham United confirmed the signing of Rangers winger, Jake Hastie.
The 20-year-old moves to the New York Stadium on a season-long loan, after finding himself down the pecking order at Ibrox.
Initially, Steven Gerrard’s plan was to keep him at Rangers [Daily Record]. Yet, it seems it was decided that after making just two appearances in the opening six weeks of action, he would be better served heading elsewhere for regular football.
Asked what he thinks he will bring to the EFL League One outfit, Hastie told iFollow Millers: “I’m quick, pacy and I’ll get at you. I’m direct and I just try and score as many goals and get as many assists as I can.”
Those words were backed up by footage of him in action for Motherwell, where he burst onto the Scottish Premiership scene over the second half of last season. The clips include two spectacular strikes he netted against Hearts and St Mirren.

It was contributions like those which convinced the Gers to make a move in the first place and it seems it was enough to impress Rotherham fans, too.
The Millers have experienced contrasting fortunes in recent seasons, from being promoted to the Championship via the playoffs in 2017/18, to being relegated back to the third tier last term.
After a solid enough start to this campaign, the capture of Hastie has given plenty more cause for optimism.
Rotherham fans rejoice at Hastie signing
