Reported Rangers pre-contract for John Souttar sparks Tynecastle meltdown

Rangers appear to have won the race to sign Hearts defender John Souttar – and the news has sparked a meltdown in Gorgie as Jambos fans lose the plot.

Souttar is out of contract in the summer and, despite offers to stay at Tynecastle, the Scotland star is reported to have agreed a deal with Rangers.

The Hearts star could even head across the M8 this month if the clubs can thrash out a deal before the transfer deadline.

However, with Souttar heading out of the capital, Hearts fans haven’t taken the news well at all, with many of the Jambos supporters wanting their defensive stalwart chucked into the under-18s for the remainder of the season.

Meanwhile, a rival Premiership manager has suggested Rangers are unlikely to snap up transfer target during the January window.
