Rangers Academy midfielder Stephen Kelly thinks the young Gers can gatecrash the reserve league title race – if they can beat Old Firm rivals Celtic next week.
The Gers came back from 2-0 to beat Hibs 3-2 yesterday to go within three points of the leaders and are very much in the mix with only a few games to go.
“Sometimes, you maybe don’t get tested too much and then you come up a difficult side and you struggle, but I think we dealt with it really well, and if we can cope with challenges like that more regularly then it can only stand us in good stead,”
“Today was one of our biggest tests and we have Celtic next week which is another massive game.
“If we can come out on top with two games to go, you never know what might happen.”
The young Gers have been consistently impressive this season and also have a Glasgow Cup final to look forward to after seeing off Queen’s Park in the semi-final.
With a number of the talented players coming through on the fringes of Steven Gerrard’s first-team there’s some clear signs of the fantastic work being done at the Academy.
Hopefully they can take that extra step and get their hands on the league trophy and Glasgow Cup to end a fantastic campaign on a high.
