Rangers U16s hammer Bracknell Town in second SuperCup NI victory

Rangers U16s made it two from two in their SuperCup NI campaign on Tuesday evening, with a resounding victory over Bracknell Town.
The night before, they had despatched County Armagh 6-0 in their tournament opener.

This was a similarly convincing win, with the Young Gers again netting six, but conceding once. The goalscorers were near-identical too, with several players adding further to their tournament tallies.
Robbie Ure opened the scoring in the early stages, calmly slotting home from the penalty spot.

Charlie Lindsay doubled the Young Gers’ lead before the opposition showed signs of life. Bracknell Town reduced the arrears and threatened to challenge for a time.
Yet, the Gers were to prove too strong, streaking away later in the game.
Leyton Dunlop notched a brace, Thomas Lonergan scored once and Dire Mebude, younger brother of Dapo, also found the net as the Glasgow side’s class showed through.

The result leaves the Young Gers second in the overall table. They are level on points and goal difference with County Antrim, behind the local side only on alphabetical order.
Next up is a fixture against Global Soccer Academy, which is due to be shown live on the BBC Sport NI website at 7:30 pm this evening [Wednesday]. A victory there will see the side progress through to the semi-final stages unbeaten.
