Rangers trio Cammy Palmer, Danny Finlayson and Matty Shiels will spend the season in America with USL side Orange County SC – and the trio will get to work with world-renowned coach Frans Hoek during their time stateside.
Hoek’s coaching career has seen him work with the likes of Ajax, FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and the Dutch national team.

Hoek has worked under the likes of Johan Cryuff, Dick Advocaat and Louis van Gaal and has a stellar reputation after a coaching career now in its fifth decade.
The talented Ibrox trio will be hoping their time in America can help push them closer to the first-team squad at Ibrox and turn them into players capable of adding to Steven Gerrard’s squad.
OCSC kicked off their USL campaign last weekend with a 0-0 draw at home to El Paso Locomotive, with Palmer the only of the three to get any game time after being named in the starting XI.
There are a few familiar faces in Orange County for the Gers youngster with former Ibrox stars Rob Kiernan and Harry Forrester also part of the squad, while teenager Francis Jacobs has recently spent time with the Light Blues.

The chance to work under someone like Hoek should really help the young Rangers players reach their potential and make the most of their time in California.
The Dutchman’s pedigree is fantastic and he knows exactly what is needed to help turn them into players capable of playing at the top level.
