Rangers teen to take time over future with Premier League billionaires circling - report

Rangers’ teen star Alex Lowry will take his time mulling over his future, according to a report, with talks seemingly planned with the Light Blues hierarchy soon.

Lowry is out of contract next summer and has been linked with cash-rich Premier League sides Man City and Newcastle recently – while Rangers are desperate for him to commit his long-term future to the Gers.

According to the Scottish Sun, the midfielder would prefer to wait until the current campaign is over before giving some proper thought to his future.

Reports have previously claimed Lowry’s agent had held talks with both Premier League sides over a potential move away from Ibrox – with Rangers sure to demand a hefty fee if he was to look to depart this summer.

After breaking into the side earlier this season, Lowry has impressed in his handful of first-team performances, as well as being one of the stand-out players in the B team this season.

Football Insider has previously reported that Rangers are closing in on a new deal for the talented midfielder which could see him agree terms until 2025 – while also being the source for claims of interest from City and Newcastle.

While the prospect of heading south and making big money early in his career is sure to be enticing, staying at Ibrox for a few more years and cementing himself as a first-team star at Rangers could make his eventual move away even more lucrative.

Lowry just needs to look at how Nathan Patterson has fared south of the border to see it’s no easy task to move to England and get regular games at a top club.
