Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has drawn level with Ally McCoist as the club’s record European goalscorer – and Gers fans were delighted for the Colombian goalmachine.

After starting on the bench, Morelos scored five minutes after replacing Kemar Roofe with an excellent header from Borna Barisic’s cross to secure a 1-0 win over Lech Poznan in a stuffy game.

The Ibrox star has struggled for goals in recent games but took his header brilliantly to net his 25 goal in Europe, with four coming during his stint with HJK Helsinki.

The win leaves Rangers level on points with Benfica after winning both of their games so far in the group stage and the two sides set to meet next week in Lisbon.

Morelos will now look to pull ahead of McCoist next week against Benfica and you wouldn’t bet against the Colombian from scoring next week and extending the Gers fantastic record.

After ending his six-game wait to get back on the scoresheet, here’s hoping El Bufalo can put together another run of goals and help fire Rangers toward the title and a deep run in Europe.

Gers fans were delighted to see him finally draw level with McCoist – with one saying they were “over the moon” for the Rangers star.
