Rangers star Ryan Jack has issued a rallying call ahead of Sunday’s Old Firm clash, insisting the Ibrox stars have to show just how much they want to fight for success going into the final weeks of the season.
Jack will almost certainly start on Sunday when the Light Blues welcome their title rivals to Ibrox and the Scotland international knows that Gio van Bronckhorst’s side are in for a tough afternoon.
Anything other than a win for Rangers will see their title hopes hanging by a thread and Jack has demanded he and his teammates “do everything” to secure the bragging rights for the Light Blues support.
“We know it will be a tough game, for us we are in front of our own fans and it is important we show how much we want to fight for the remainder of the season,” Jack said [Rangers TV].
“We know what our fans bring on European nights and Old Firm matches, it is important we start properly and get the full crowd right behind us on Sunday.
“It is important we leave everything on the pitch on Sunday, we will never give up and never stop fighting. We will do everything we can to send the fans home happy.”
After making his return to action earlier this year after a long spell on the sidelines, Jack wants to make up for the disappointing Old Firm performance last time the sides met.
Losing comfortably at Parkhead saw GvB’s side come nowhere near the standards they have set in the past and Jack wants to make amends on Sunday, adding: “The last Old Firm we let ourselves down, we know it wasn’t acceptable as a squad. We have prepared hard and will give it everything on Sunday.”
