Rangers star pays emotional Jimmy Bell tribute after Scottish Cup win

Rangers star Ryan Jack has paid an emotional tribute to iconic Ibrox kitman Jimmy Bell after the midfielder scored the opening goal in yesterday’s Scottish Cup final.

Little more than 24 hours after Bell’s funeral in Glasgow, the Light Blues took to the pitch at Hampden to face Hearts, with Jack and Scott Wright scoring to secure a 2-0 win.

Having also gone through the agony of losing in the Europa League final in Seville on Wednesday night, it has been a rollercoaster of emotions for the Rangers stars over the last few days.

Sharing an image of the Order of Service from Bell’s funeral as well as one of Jack lifting the Scottish Cup yesterday, the Ibrox star took a moment to send a tribute to the Gers icon.

“Well Jimmy boy I know you was with me and the team every step of the way this week. Won that for you mate rest easy,” Jack posted on Instagram.

The huge amount of tributes from those at the club and beyond show just the sort of impact Bell made in his 35 years at Rangers.

Players from teams right across his tenure have came out and spoke in only the highest of terms about Bell – both as a colleague and as a person.

With the current crop of players making several tributes since Bell’s death, his influence at the club will be felt for a long, long time to come.
