Rangers star opens up on possible international call

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has admitted that he would “love” to be part of Carlos Queiroz’s first Colombia squad – but admitted he’s still not received a call from his national boss.
The former Real Madrid boss is due to name his first squad later today and the 28-goal striker has been touted for a call-up.

Morelos confirmed he’s yet to hear from anyone from the Colombian FA but would love to be part of the squad to face Japan and South Korea.

“I still have not received an official call from Carlos Queiroz or anybody from his coaching staff,” Morelos said, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.
“So I don’t know whether I am in the squad.

“I’d love to be part of it for the games in Japan and South Korea.”
Morelos made his debut last year and has continued the blistering club form that won him his first cap.
The Gers ace signed a new deal last week that will keep him at Ibrox until 2023 after being linked with moves to the likes of Dortmund, Leicester City and
Eintracht Frankfurt.

Steven Gerrard’s side have games with Aberdeen and Kilmarnock before the international break and a call-up for Morelos could give the 22-year-old a confidence boost.
With the Copa America right around the corner, getting into his country’s squad would be a fantastic platform for Morelos to show he can perform at the highest level.
