Ryan Jack admits Scotland frustration as Rangers face crunch run of games

Rangers star Ryan Jack has been one of Steven Gerrard’s most consistent performers since arriving at Ibrox last year and after carrying that form over to the national team, Jack is frustrated at having to wait until March again to pull on a dark blue jersey.

The midfield linchpin had inexplicably been on the fringes of the national team until recently but has quickly shown his worth with impressive performances against Cyprus and Kazakhstan.

Jack wants to carry on the “feel-good factor” in the national camp and admits having to wait four months for the Eur0 2020 playoffs is “frustrating.”

“We’re playing alongside each other more often. It is frustrating that there’s going to be a wee bit of a break now. If we had these games next month there’d be a feel-good factor from the last games,” Jack told The Scotsman.

“We’ll all go back to our clubs and be looking to play well, keep in the manager’s thoughts and I’m sure come March everyone will be involved.

“You want to win matches; you don’t want to come away and get beat, then go back to your club not feeling good about yourself. Thankfully this trip we’ve been able to get two wins, so that helps your confidence going back to your club. There’s a lot of big games coming up and a lot to look forward to.”

Jack now returns to Ibrox ahead of a crucial run of ten games in five weeks for Rangers, starting with this weekend’s trip to face Hamilton.

The Light Blues then travel to Holland to face Feyenoord in the Europa League on Thursday night as they look to secure a place in the last 32.

While Jack might be frustrated at the lack of international games coming up, the Rangers star will have plenty on his plate between now and the end of 2019 to keep him occupied.
