Rangers ground out a 1-0 win over St. Mirren in Paisley thanks to Borna Barisic’s free-kick but it was Ryan Jack’s performance in midfield that Gers fans on Twitter were raving about.

Jack ran the show for the Gers in the engine-room as they saw huge amounts of possession against a St. Mirren side happy to sit camped within 30 yards of their own goal.

The former Aberdeen captain has continued to get better and better in recent months and is one of the first names on Steven Gerrard’s team-sheet every week.

With Rangers continually pressing forward, Jack was constantly looking to find ways through the packed Saints defence and create chances at goal – while expertly snuffing out the few threats that the hosts posed.

Barisic’s phenomenal free-kick was the difference on the score-sheet but Rangers could, and probably should, have beaten Jim Goodwin’s side by a greater margin.

Gers fans on Twitter were, again, left blown away by Jack’s display – with one saying they “absolutely love” the Ibrox star.

With two massive games against Celtic and Legia to come between now and next Sunday evening, Jack is going to need to be at his very best if the Gers are to maintain their recent form.
