Rangers rivals’ Player of the Season spotted by fan in Seville

Ex-Rangers star and Aberdeen Player of the Season Ross McCrorie has been spotted in Seville ahead of the Europa League Final.

With the Dons disappointing season done and dusted the former Rangers Academy star appears to have made the trip to Spain to follow the Ibrox side.

The ex-Scotland U21 captain was spotted by a supporter who uploaded a picture to Twitter.

Ross McCrorie came through the youth set up at Ibrox and spent five years with the Rangers first team before moving on to Aberdeen last season, initially on loan.

The player’s brother Robby is still on the books at Rangers and perhaps Ross can sooth any bitter Aberdeen fan complaints by pulling the family card.

But we’re sure whether Robby was involved or otherwise Ross McCrorie would be cheering on the Rangers and the club he grew up supporting.

Aberdeen had a disappointing campaign over the piece but McCrorie earned the accolades at the club’s end of season awards.

Picking up the Aberdeen Player of the Season award, Ross McCrorie described receiving the award as an “honour”.

“It is an honour to get the award,” said McCrorie [Press & Journal].

“I have to thank the players for their support throughout the season as well as the coaching staff and the fans.

“They have been tremendous since the start of the season.

“We know the results haven’t been good enough.

“We know we need to do better and hopefully we can finish the season on a high and start well next season.

“It is nice to get an award for the hard work I have put in and for the fans to recognise that.

“I appreciate that very much. Hopefully I can repay them with good performances and keep them up.”

Whilst Ross McCrorie has tasted disappointment with Aberdeen all season long, let’s hope he can see Rangers lift the cup in Seville.

Meanwhile, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been sending a message to the Ibrox side ahead of the Europa League Final.
