Rangers predicted XI v St Mirren: Morelos starts, chance at RW

We predict the Rangers XI for the Scottish Premiership clash with St Mirren as the club amble towards a much-needed World Cup break.

The Gers squad has been decimated by a series of injuries across the defence, midfield and attack with several key players ruled out and the Gers knowing anything but three points will see the pressure build on Van Bronckhorst.

Rangers are already seven points behind in the Scottish Premiership title race and any wider gap ahead of that five-week break could spells curtains for the club’s title challenge.

In the clash with St Mirren, we’re expecting Rangers to start with Allan McGregor in goal whilst James Tavernier and Borna Barisic are nailed on to start at right and left back respectively.

At centre-back the club is missing several key first-teamers with Connor Goldson, John Souttar and Filip Helander all missing the clash.

Ben Davies is the club’s most senior player in the position and we suspect the club’s least senior player at centre-back, Leon King, will partner him.

In midfield, expect John Lundstram, James Sands and Malik Tillman to continue in the middle of the park with some decisions to be made at the top end of the pitch.

Ryan Kent impressed in the 1-0 win against Hearts in the second half, whilst Scott Wright impressed after a second half substitution and Alfredo Morelos is a shoo-in to start with Antonio Colak ruled out through injury.

This our Rangers XI for the St Mirren clash as the club look to earn their second win on the bounce in the Scottish Premiership.
