Rangers predicted XI as Gers fans hope to see wonderkid debut

Rangers return to league action tomorrow lunchtime when Gio van Bronckhorst takes his side to Dingwall to face Ross County – and there could be a few changes to the side from the midweek win over Livingston.

With Amad Diallo completing his loan move from Manchester United and Joe Aribo returning from AFCON following Nigeria’s surprise exit, the Light Blues are in stronger shape than just a few days ago.

Ryan Kent is also back in contention after he missed the Livi win through suspension but Alfredo Morelos is unavailable with Colombia in action tonight.

Your Club's CRUEL Transfer Decision This Month

With next week’s Old Firm clash with Celtic rapidly approaching, van Bronckhorst may look to give some minutes to players he sees having a key role to play against them.

Leon Balogun is one of those who could benefit and the defender could come back into the starting XI at the expense of Calvin Bassey.

That would see Rangers line up with a back five of Allan McGregor, James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Leon Balogun and Borna Barisic.

Ahead of them, Scott Arfield’s goal is likely to see him and Joe Aribo reintroduced to the starting XI in the middle of the park with James Sands and Alex Lowry making way.

A midfield trio of Glen Kamara, Scott Arfield and Joe Aribo is sure to offer more penetration than the Gers have shown recently and provide more support for the front three.

The front three will be without Ianis Hagi following his season-ending injury and Morelos due to his international commitments but the showing against Livi highlighted one or two problems for Rangers.

Cedric Itten’s struggles in front of goal will likely see him make way for Fashion Sakala while Ryan Kent is a stick-on to return to the starting XI.

That leaves one spot in the side and with Hagi out, Roofe struggling for fitness and Scott Wright struggling for form, it could well set the stage for a debut for Amad Diallo.

If GvB does take the chance on the Ivorian, the Gers are likely to go with a front three of Amad Diallo, Ryan Kent and Fashion Sakala.

Here’s how we think Rangers will line up tomorrow:

Allan McGregor

James Tavernier

Connor Goldson

Leon Balogun

Borna Barisic

Glen Kamara

Scott Arfield

Joe Aribo

Amad Diallo

Ryan Kent

Fashion Sakala
