With the game against Aberdeen being the main focus of today, there’s not been a huge amount to discuss this past week. The team have been training hard, and the new signings looking to settle in as quickly as possible. Let’s have a look at the stories which don’t involve the game tonight.

GREG DOCHERTY

Reports suggest that Rangers and Hamilton have now come to an agreement. By the time you read this, Docherty may already be confirmed as a Rangers player. It’s a signing which is welcomed by almost all of the fans. Hopefully, there won’t be any complications to deal with today!

BRUNO ALVES

Alves was linked with a move to Italy in recent days. The team rooted to the bottom of the league, Benevento, were reported to be in communication with the club. Rumours suggest that Alves is open to a move. However, he has said in an interview that he wants to stay and fight for his place at Rangers. Given his recovery from injury right now, this one could be a deadline day discussion.

TYLER ROBERTS

The young West Brom striker has now returned to his club after the loan with Walsall came to an end. Reports in England suggest that the club rejected a £4m offer from Leeds for the player. This would suggest that West Brom are confident of keeping Roberts at the club. Some reports and rumours last week gave the impression that he was close to signing for Rangers on a pre-contract. Nothing has been confirmed either way so far.

In terms of other transfer news, the long-running rumours surrounding both Steven Naismith and Kenny McLean can be brought to an end as they’ve signed for Hearts and Norwich respectively. Wigan were reportedly monitoring the Jordan Rossiter situation, but as he’s only just returned to training recently it’s doubtful he’ll move any time soon. There’s been no further movement for Jordan Jones after the rejection of Rangers initial offer.

The positive energy surrounding our Development Squad continues to grow. A strong 2-1 win against Bayern Munich has been followed by announcements of further matches. Teams like Man Utd, PSG and Villareal will be faced in coming months. When that’s added to the positive impact some of the youth players have made in the first team, it’s certainly an exciting time to be involved in for those prospects.
