Cammy Palmer wasn’t the only Rangers loanee to impress over the weekend.

Stephen Kelly scored his fourth goal for Ayr United in their 3-0 win over Arbroath, keeping the Honest Men locked in battle with Dundee United at the top of the Championship.

Elsewhere in the Championship, though, Robby McCrorie put in a stand out display.

Rangers loanee McCrorie earns impressive accolade

The 21-year-old was between the sticks for Queen of the South, as they welcomed a Dundee side to Palmerston Park which featured fellow Gers loanee Josh McPake and former Ibrox midfielder Graham Dorrans.

1-1 was the final score, with Jordan McGhee equalising for the visitors after Jack Hamilton had opened the scoring early on.

Yet, despite any hopes of a clean sheet disappearing in the eleventh minute, McCrorie did enough to be named Man of the Match.

The Scotland U21 international stopper was called upon to make a number of smart saves throughout the 90 minutes, getting down low to thwart McPake in the first half, and Dorrans in the second [BBC Sport].

It’s good to see McCrorie is doing well in what is his third spell away from Ibrox, following stints with Berwick Rangers and most recently, Greenock Morton.

He already has eleven appearances to his name for Queen of the South [Soccerbase] and will be hoping to continue to show improvements in his game, as his season-long loan progresses.
