Rangers loanee booked but takes big step towards promotion

Rangers loanee Jordan Rossiter had another successful outing on Saturday afternoon.
His adopted club are currently experiencing financial trouble and it had been showing on the pitch. The Shakers had lost their previous three matches.

However, two goals from striker Dom Telford helped the Shakers to a 2-0 home win over Colchester.
In so doing, they reignited their challenge for automatic promotion.
The three points alongside slip-ups from nearest challengers Mansfield and MK Dons ensured they reclaimed second spot in the table.
With just four games left, their fate is back in their hands.

On a personal level, it was yet another 90 minutes for Rossiter, who has become an integral part of the team since his January loan switch.

Last weekend, he surpassed his total number of league appearances for the Gers, despite moving to Ibrox in 2016.
This was his 12th outing since the move, in comparison to four made under Steven Gerrard.

He picked up a booking in the 87th minute. Perhaps surprisingly, for such a tough tackling midfielder, it was just his third caution of the campaign.
If he could help steer Bury back into the third tier, it might help convince Gerrard he’s ready to take part in an SPL title race, next season.
