A team of Rangers legends has defeated a Premiership Select in a seven-goal thriller in the seaside town of Blackpool.
Hundreds of Rangers fans made the trip down to the English coastal town to cheer on some of the club’s most iconic figures.
And those that took the trip weren’t disappointed as Rangers ran out 4-3 winners at Blackpool Football Club’s Bloomfield Road.
Rangers raced into a two-goal lead in the first half as midfielder’s Charlie Miller and Alex Rae had the Bears firing.
But former Rangers’ winger Mark Walters pulled one back for the Select with a neat chip before halftime.
Former Sunderland and Aston Villa midfielder Gavin McCann fired in an equaliser not long after the break. But the score line wouldn’t remain level for long.
Nacho Novo – who travelled down with a bus of supporters – fired Rangers back in front not long after.
A Rangers fan then lived out what we’re sure is a childhood dream with the fourth. It’ll be made all the sweeter given it was the eventual winner.
McCann scored his second to make it 4-3 but the Premiership Select couldn’t catch the Rangers Legends.
Rangers fans were said to be in good voice as supporters enjoy a unique weekend away during the international break.
The Rangers legends side included the likes of Charlie Miller, Alex Rae, Nacho Novo, Marvin Andrews, Lee McCulloch, Steven Smith, David Weir, Pedro Mendes, Michael Mols, Jorg Albertz and Bob Malcolm.
