New Rangers signing Andy King has revealed that he spoke to former Ger Martyn Waghorn over his move to Ibrox and was only told “positive things” from the striker who “loved his time” at the club.
King joined on a season-long loan from Leicester City yesterday and sought out his “good friend” Waghorn, who told him he would “really enjoy” a spell with the Gers.

After lifting the Premier League with Leicester City, King insists that he wants to help Rangers win trophies in Scotland during his season on loan.
“I spoke to Martyn Waghorn, he is a good friend of mine and he loved his time here and only had positive things to say about it and what a good club it is. He said I would really enjoy it,”
King told Rangers TV.
“You want to play in a team which is looking to win things, I think any player in their career wants to try and win trophies and fortunately enough for me I have managed to do that so far in my career. Hopefully, I can try and help Rangers win some trophies this year as well.”
King adds more competition to an already packed midfield as he becomes the Gers’ tenth summer signing.

It’s no surprise to see Waghorn speak highly of the club as the striker appeared to really enjoy his time at Ibrox, for the most part, and had an affinity with fans.
Hopefully, King can enjoy his time here just as much and join the small group of players with both a Scottish and English league winners medal.
