Rangers star Jordan Jones gets injury boost after Old Firm shame - report

Rangers winger Jordan Jones has reportedly been handed an injury boost with the Northern Irishman reportedly only now facing a month on the sidelines.

According to the Daily Record, Jones was given the news yesterday after injuring himself in the final moments of Sunday’s Old Firm defeat with a stupid tackle on Celtic’s Moritz Bauer.

There were fears the winger may have torn his ACL and been looking at spending the rest of the season out of action but it now appears he’ll be back fit sooner rather than later.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard was not impressed with Jones after being sent off, accusing him of trying to “appease” fans with his reckless lunge.

Jones has already been forced to withdraw from the Northern Ireland squad to face Luxembourg and Germany over the coming week.

With Ryan Kent’s arrival at Ibrox in the final moments of the transfer window, Jones faced a real fight to retain his place in the side anyway but with the winger now injured then it makes it even tougher for him.

Had Jones been forced to sit the season out through injury, it would’ve raised real doubts about his long-term future – despite only having just joined the club – but, hopefully, once he recovers he can get his head down and force his way back into Gerrard’s plans.
