Rangers fans have reacted after Balkan football journalist Filip Mishov, linked the club with Dinamo Zagreb no.10, Lovro Majer.

Mishov says that the Gers are keen on both Majer and Osijek striker Mirko Maric, who already has 14 goals for the season.

However, as both players are highly rated and under contract, neither will come cheap, with the journalist suggesting that it would take a combined fee of around £12 million to take them both to Ibrox.

Despite Maric’s prolific goalscoring, it seems to be Majer who Bears are getting most excited about.

He started his career with NK Lokomotiva and moved to Dinamo Zagreb in 2018, since suffering from injury and a relative lack of game time. However, while he’s yet to net in 16 appearances in all competitions this season, he continues to be highly thought of.

The attacking midfielder will be well known to Gers centre-back Nikola Katic, as the two were teammates during the U21 European Championships in the summer. In fact, Filip Mishov has ventured to assert that both Majer and Maric are more rounded players than either Katic or Borna Barisic were when they came to Rangers.

Given the popularity of both Katic and Barisic amongst the Ibrox faithful, it seems the thought of bringing in another talented Croatian, is extremely appealing.

Here’s a selection of reactions to the link from Twitter:
