Rangers reportedly have a ‘minor interest’ in bringing former Ibrox star Josh Windass back to Ibrox – and the news has split Gers fans on Twitter down the middle.

Windass left Rangers shortly after Steven Gerrard’s arrival after the Gers boss admitted that he couldn’t guarantee the former Accrington ace regular game time as a centre forward – something which Gerrard has been vindicated on given Alfredo Morelos’ incredible goal return.

The arrogant son of former Aberdeen and Hull star Dean also admitted that he left the club because he couldn’t believe they accepted a £2.5m offer for his services.

The attacker moved to Wigan but could be set to leave the Latics after failing to come close to replicating the form he showed at Ibrox and fans are far from convinced he is what the Light Blues need – although some do think he could do a job for Gerrard’s side.

With the Morelos and Jermain Defoe already at the club and scoring on a remarkably consistent basis, and the likes of Greg Stewart waiting in the wings, a move for the man who famously doesn’t like eggs but likes an omlette seems unlikely.
