Rangers fans react on Twitter as Gers announce Indian link

Rangers confirmed a two-year partnership with Indian Super League champions Bengaluru FC as the Gers look to expand their global audience – and fans on Twitter are looking forward to seeing how it benefits the club.

The Gers announced the link on the club website earlier today as they continue their plans to grow the club’s fanbase and engage with new supporters at home and abroad.

The link-up will see a Gers Academy side head to India to train at Bengaluru’s state of the art facilities while a Rangers Legends team will travel out for a match.

There will also be screening events in Bengaluru for fans and, hopefully, Rangers can make a big impact in India with a potential audience of 1.3 billion.

Bengaluru have been incredibly successful since their formation six years ago with two I-League titles and an Indian Super League crown to their name.

Fans on Twitter were a bit surprised with the news but were looking forward to it benefiting Rangers in the future – although a few were quick to see the funnier side.
