Rangers fans react to friendly screening news coming out of Dubai

Rangers have announced that their upcoming friendly match with Uzbekistani side Lokomotiv Tashkent will be streamed live on Rangers TV.

The match – which is set to kick-off at 11 am UK time on Saturday the 11th of January – will be available live for £9.99 on the streaming service.

Steven Gerrard’s side are set to test themselves against the second-place Uzbek side as they continue their preparations in Dubai for the second half of the season.

Rangers are currently in the United Arab Emirates in a warm-weather intensive training camp as they prepare for a big second half of the season.

The Ibrox side are currently primed for a title challenge and a real shot at the club’s first major trophy since 2011.

The friendly with Tashkent will offer the players the opportunity to get minutes into the legs in what should be a relatively competitive match.

But given the match is only a friendly, supporters are feeling a little aggrieved at the decision to charge fans for the game.

Even if many are reluctantly willing to pay the money:

Since the friendly was announced Rangers fans have been excited about the test and it’s all about preparing the team for the return to action against Stranraer in the Scottish Cup on the 17th.

Lokomotiv Tashkent are currently second in the Uzbekistani Premier Football League, but are 20 points off leaders Pakhtakor.
