Ryan Jack hailed by Gers fans after cup final agony

Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack put in an impressive performance for the Light Blues in yesterday’s Scottish League Cup final clash with Celtic – leaving Gers fans on Twitter raving about the Scotland international after a disappointing result.

Jack was all over the pitch snapping into challenges and breaking up the play as well as having a massive part to play in the Light Blues’ attacks as they took the game to their bitter rivals but couldn’t help Gerrard’s side over the line as they fell to a 1-0 defeat.

The midfielder almost opened the scoring with a rasping strike from distance in the first-half which forced a tremendous stop from Celtic keeper Fraser Forster as he somehow tipped Jack’s strike away.

There was some concern for Jack midway through the first-half after he stayed down clutching his knee after a challenge on Lewis Morgan but was fit to continue after lengthy treatment.

Fans were impressed by his performance, particularly in the first half, as they looked for positives as the Gers’ trophy drought continued – with one saying he was “peerless” in the opening 45.
