Rangers fans rave about Morelos after Europa League strike

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos was once again the toast of the Gers support after his goal against Young Boys in the Europa League clash between the sides – with one Rangers fan comparing him to Celtic and Liverpool icon Sir Kenny Dalglish.

The Colombian striker left a defender for dead before firing beyond the keeper to inject some quality in what had been a poor opening 45 minutes from both sides.

Gers fans already adore the striker and his goal only added to that as the Gers hailed his impact as Steven Gerrard’s side looked for their first-ever competitive win in Switzerland.

The Colombian also had a really strong shout for a penalty waved away when he was tripped early in the second half but the referee waved play on despite El Buffalo’s appeals.

The chances were few and far between as the game went on but the Gers striker continued to try and make angles for passes and bring team-mates into play.

Both sides struggled with a lack of real quality and it often saw Morelos having to feed on scraps as he tried to grab a second goal and fire the Gers back in front -however, James Tavernier’s late howler gifted all three points to the hosts.

Fans were loving the Colombian’s contribution – with one saying they’ve “never” seen a player use their body as effectively as Morelos uses his.
