Inverness CT striker James Keatings will miss the Challenge Cup after his baffling second yellow card for diving in Sunday’s semi-final win over Rangers Colts was even more bafflingly upheld by the Scottish FA’s disciplinary panel – and Rangers fans on Twitter couldn’t believe what they were seeing.
The Caley star was shown a second booking by Greg Aitken after a challenge by Ciaran Dickson and now misses out when his side face Raith Rovers in the final.

Caley Thistle confirmed the appeal had been rejected earlier and the row looks set to continue with the Championship side promising a further statement to come.
Manager John Robertson was furious at the original decision, calling it a “disgrace” when interviewed by BBC Alba immediately after the final whistle.
“James Keatings now could miss a cup final because he gets knocked over and the ref says it’s a dive. Disgraceful decision,” Robertson, rightly, ranted on live TV.

Caley won the game 2-1 thanks to a late goal from Miles Storey, with Keatings scoring the equaliser just before the break after Dapo Mebude had fired Rangers Colts into a sixth-minute lead.
When it was confirmed Keatings’ appeal had been rejected, Rangers fans – and fans from across Scottish football – were stunned at the simply incomprehensible decision to uphold the red card.

Anyone else get the feeling the SFA are going out of their way to prove VAR won’t work here? Incredible stuff pic.twitter.com/OM6ndAzfAe

A panel has looked at the James Keatings incident and still came to the conclusion it was a dive. 100% VAR will not work in Scotland so long as the current crop of officials and those that govern them remain employed.

Baffled. I'd like to see the explanation
