The Romanian international scored six minutes from the end to secure a deserved win on his first start for the club, to keep Rangers seven points behind Celtic in the title race.
Hagi took a little bit to get going as he settled into the side but once he found his feet, the Gers fans were quick to get behind the on-loan star.
He showed excellent composure to pick his spot and fire home the 84th-minute winner but, even before that, there were real signs of quality from the 21-year-old.
The Istanbul-born star wasn’t afraid to demand the ball from his more experienced team-mates and looked equally comfortable with the ball on his left foot as he does on his ‘natural’ right.
With a trip to face Hamilton in the Scottish Cup on Saturday, Gers fans will be hoping to see more from Hagi after his stunning start.
Here are some of the comments from Rangers fans – including some who think he should win the Ballon d’Or:

Was almost scripted for Hagi junior to score the winning goal on his first start and on his dads birthday.
A fans hero already. pic.twitter.com/a8WveTXUit

I know Kent hasn’t had a decent preseason but Hagi has shown him up on exactly what he should be doing week on week. The kid was demanding the ball, head up. He was talking to Tav about tactics during breaks in play.

I know it was only his first start for us, so I’m not gonna get carried away. But if Hagi doesn’t win ballon d’or then there’s something seriously wrong

I’m not trying to overreact or anything. But I’m pretty sure Ianis Hagi will be the next Ballon d'Or Winner. 😂🙌🏻 pic.twitter.com/TukwecTUcx
