It seems like an eternity since Peter Bosz’s Bayer Leverkusen side earned a 3-1 victory over Rangers in the first leg Europa League last 16 tie at Ibrox.
That fixture, which took place on 12 March, was the last time the Gers took to the pitch for a competitive fixture.
Rangers fans have been starved of action since then, but now there’s light at the end of the tunnel.
Not only is the start of the 2020/21 Scottish Premiership season less than four weeks away, but the date, venue and kick-off time for the second leg against Leverkusen has also finally been confirmed.
The German club won’t have their fans there cheering them on but they will have the benefit of playing at home, with the game set for the BayArena on 6th August, kicking off at 5.55pm.
The Gers are 3-1 down on aggregate heading into the game after first leg strikes from Kai Havertz, Charles Aranguiz and Leon Bailey, ensuring they are very much the underdogs.
That hasn’t stopped fans getting excited about the confirmation of the fixture details, though.

Should Rangers overcome the odds and progress to the quarter-finals, they will face either Italian giants Inter Milan or Spanish club Getafe.
The latter stages of the competition will be single-leg ties held at neutral venues in Germany.
