Rangers supporters are angry with the club after Europa League prices were revealed yesterday.

Steven Gerrard’s side return to Europe for the first time since 2011. Rangers will face Villareal, Spartak Moscow, and Rapid Vienna in the group stages of UEFA’s secondary club competition.

The club’s supporters were delighted with their side after qualifying for the tournament against FC Ufa last week. The victory was full of character, and much praise was heaped on Gerrard’s side for grinding it out.

Price Joke

Yet, it appears that the club have decided to take supporters for a ride with their pricing.

For supporters who want to buy the three-match package, they’ll have to ship out £105. This is a hefty cost just to watch Europa League football, with supporters already paying for season tickets.

Season-ticket holding concessions can get the bundle for a much-reduced £57, whilst under-13s cost £42.

The pricing seems particularly excessive for the competition.

Rangers fans also aren’t happy that they’re having to pay more than rivals Celtic to watch their side.

The Parkhead side are subsequently charging £72 for their supporters to buy the bundle. Both the concession packages and the junior packages are the same cost as Rangers.

Even down south, Chelsea and Arsenal’s average price for a ticket is £20 and £15.50 respectively. This therefore means that Rangers are the dearest in Britain for Europa League football this season.

Gerrard’s side did extremely well to get to the group stage after a tough qualifying campaign. The club managed to see off Shkupi, NK Osijek, Maribor, and Ufa respectively.

The run has seen the new Rangers manager become an instant hero. But it seems the club have soured things a tad with their pricing for the competition.

Below are the dates and opposition for each home match:

OCTOBER 4th – Rapid Vienna

OCTOBER 25th – Spartak Moscow

NOVEMBER 29th – Villareal
