Rangers flop Eduardo Herrera looks as though he is on his way back to Ibrox after his loan spell with Liga MX side Club Necaxa came to an end and the striker thanked his now-former club.

Herrera has barely been seen at Ibrox in the last two years and is now entering the final six months of his Rangers contract after spending the last 12 months with Necaxa

“Thank you Necaxa, a year where there were more joys that we could share with this faithful hobby,” Herrera said on Twitter.

“I take great memories of both colleagues, coaching staff, management and all the people who work at the club. I have only to thank you.”

The former Mexican international had originally joined Santos Laguna on loan but after struggling to force his way into the side, Necaxa took over his loan move at the start of 2019.

Herrera has scored nine times in 39 appearances for Los Rayos as they reached the semi-finals of the 2019 Apertura, losing 3-1 on aggregate to Monterrey.

Hopefully, the striker’s performances for Necaxa have done enough to impress someone to make a move in January and take him off Rangers’ hands rather than spending the next six months looking in from the outside as Steven Gerrard’s side challenge for silverware.
