Rangers boss sends rallying call ahead of Ibrox celebrations

Rangers manager Gio van Bronckhorst has called on the Gers support to get behind them this weekend when they face Aberdeen at Ibrox in the club’s 150th anniversary as he acknowledged the feeling among the support over the friendly against Celtic in Australia.

The Light Blues welcome Ryan Jack, Fil Helander and Aaron Ramsey back from injury and Gio is confident his side still have the backing of the fans despite the anger over the Sydney Super Cup.

With his side preparing for a run of huge games in the coming weeks, the Ibrox boss was clear in what he wants from the fans at Ibrox tomorrow.

“The message is clear, we need all the support we have which the supporters gave us last Wednesday,” van Bronckhorst said.

“Of course, they are entitled to their opinions which is ok. On the other hand, you see they weren’t happy with the friendly obviously but they also supported us. In the end, we have to be successful, they are more than capable of supporting the team because we want to be successful this season.

“I have no doubt that the supporters will be fully behind us tomorrow against Aberdeen so I think that’s all that matters. They showed they’re not happy about the friendly in November but they are still backing us as a team and as a club.”
