Following Rangers’ win over Hearts at Hampden on Sunday, Steven Gerrard provided an emphatic response to Alfredo Morelos transfer rumours in an interview with BT Sport.
The Colombian assisted the first goal and scored the other two as the Gers swept aside the Jambos at Hampden Park to book a place in December’s League Cup final.

There’s been speculation, though, that Morelos could be close to a departure from the club.
It’s been reported that both Crystal Palace [Scottish Sun] and St Etienne [Le10Sport] are tracking the goal machine, while the player himself allegedly said he was targeting a January exit to move to a ‘more competitive’ league [Daily Record].
However, Gerrard was quick to shut down the transfer talk.

“I’m not confident, I’m sure, I’m 100% sure he’s not going anywhere,” the Gers manager told BT Sport in response to a question about Morelos’ future.
It’s fantastic news for Rangers fans, who will want to hold onto the 23-year-old for as long as possible.

Following the release of the club’s financial data, some may have thought a sale would be more likely. Yet, there’s clearly no hurry to cash in.
The Gers are in the hunt for silverware and holding onto a player who already has 20 goals this season, is key to any prospective success going forward.
