Rangers boss admits 'anything can happen' before deadline as he mulls 'possibilities'

Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has refused to rule out more comings or goings at Ibrox before the transfer window closes, admitting “anything can happen” although the Gers boss confessed he was hoping it would stay a “little bit calm”.

The Gers have sold Nathan Patterson this month while bringing in Amad Diallo and James Sands on loan in the Dutchman’s first transfer window in charge – with John Souttar also signing a pre-contract at Ibrox.

“It is the last days. We can still do some business. I don’t know,” van Bronckhorst said [RangersTV].

“I don’t know who is going. Anything can happen, especially in the last days of the transfer window.

“Sometimes it gets a little bit crazy but I hope for us in this window it stays a little bit calm.

“You never know. We will see in a couple of days how our squad will be for the remainder of the season. I am confident we will leave this window better than we started it.”

With speculation linking Rangers with a move for Manchester City youngster James McAtee, van Bronckhorst wouldn’t comment on individuals, only saying there are “many possibilities” for the Gers ahead of next week’s deadline, adding: “We spoke with many players and have many possibilities we want to add. So far I don’t have any news.

“The only news is that Amad is joining us. We are still open and have to be ready for the remainder of the next days.

“I won’t confirm or talk about names other than players who are here and players we have signed.”
