Rangers have confirmed that Academy defender Jordan Houston has signed on loan for Championship side Ayr United until January.
The Gers announced the move through the club’s Academy Twitter account, with Houston joining Ibrox team-mate Stephen Kelly at Somerset Park.

The full-back spent time on loan with Airdrie last season but injury disrupted his time in North Lanarkshire before he returned to Ibrox over the summer.
Houston will now look to nail down a regular place in Ian McCall’s side and will be hoping he can come straight into the side when the Honest Men face another of Houston’s Gers’ team-mate when they face Partick Thistle and Cammy Palmer.
The Scotland youth international has been a regular in Graeme Murty’s Development squad over the last few seasons and made his first-team debut in the Scottish Cup win over Cowdenbeath last season.

Houston has spoken in the past about how he wants to push on and challenge for a first-team place at Rangers and playing regularly for Ayr should help him get closer to that.
With the likes of James Tavernier and Matt Polster ahead of him at right-back though, Houston might have to bide his time a while until he can force his way into the side.
