On-loan Rangers keeper Jak Alnwick wants to send a message to the other sides in League One by picking up Blackpool’s third win from three games when they face Oxford today.
The Seasiders have made a strong start to the campaign so far but face another side who have had an impressive early run of results.
“They ended last season quite well so I’m sure they’re full of confidence but if we can carry on what we’ve been doing, I’ve no doubt we can get a positive result,”
“I think a statement would be getting three wins in a row, which in this league is always massive no matter what stage.
“But Oxford have already taken points off two top teams so they’re obviously a good side, so it would be a good statement from us to make it three wins on the bounce.”
Alnwick will be hoping to impress at Bloomfield Road as he enters the final year of his Ibrox contract.
The keeper doesn’t look to have any future at Rangers so will be on the lookout for a new club for next season and helping Blackpool win promotion would be a big positive.
With a long season to go, keeping their perfect form going would put Simon Grayson’s side in a strong position early in the campaign and put them in with a good chance of reaching the Championship.
