Rangers Academy duo Kai Kennedy and Ciaran Dickson have been named in Billy Stark’s Scotland under-18 squad for the tournament in Turkey which gets underway tomorrow.
The duo will face Angola, Cameroon, and Paraguay in Group Two and face Angola tomorrow in their opening match, according to the Scottish FA website.
The Gers pair missed the 7-0 win over Motherwell last night as the young Scots prepare for the UEFA development tournament.
Stark thinks he has an “exciting” group and hopes they can impress against some tough opposition – while also having to compete with the heat.
“We have an exciting young group, one I’m looking forward to working with in Turkey. We aim to be competitive and push ourselves against the teams in our group,” Stark told the Scottish FA.
There have been a host of young Rangers players representing their country at various age groups and the latest nod is further evidence of the fantastic work being done at the club’s Academy by Craig Mulholland, David McCallum, Kevin Thomson, and the other coaching staff.
Scotland’s sides have performed well at youth level recently and, hopefully, they can continue that in Turkey.
