Provan thinks Rangers inconsistency will give Gerrard sleepless nights

Davie Provan believes that fixing Rangers’ consistency problems will be keeping Gers boss Steven Gerrard “awake at night.”
The Gers boss watched his side win six games on the spin before the final day defeat to Kilmarnock – with Provan calling the Light Blues “hopelessly inconsistent.”

Gerrard has addressed the consistency issues previously however with only nine points separating Rangers and Celtic then they aren’t quite as bad as portrayed.
“Before New Year, I said Rangers would do well to finish within ten points of Celtic. They made it by a whisker,” Provan told the Scottish Sun.

“But having been turfed out of both cups by Aberdeen, it has hardly been a successful campaign for Steven Gerrard’s team.
“Following a derby win over Celtic, last week’s defeat at Kilmarnock summed Gers up — hopelessly inconsistent.
“Solving that problem will be keeping Gerrard awake at night.”
The Gers will go into the new campaign feeling optimistic that they can finally catch Celtic after beating their bitter rivals in the league this season for the first time since before the club was demoted to the Third Division.

Neil Lennon’s appointment as Celtic bo
ss is another positive for Gers fans who, in the main, don’t particularly rate the former Hibs and Bolton manager.
It’s unlikely that the Gers’ inconsistency is keeping Gerrard awake though – but the thought of a resurgent Rangers might just be giving a few across the city some sleepless nights.
