It came as little surprise today, that no Rangers players made it into the SPFL Team of the Week.

The team, as always, consisted of the outstanding performers from the weekend’s fixtures. But, after the poor result away at Dundee, there isn’t a Ger in sight.

Not even Andy Halliday, who’s superb free-kick sent the away fans wild in the 21st minute, got a look in. Instead, Hearts’ Cameroonian international Arnaud Djoum, gets the nod on the left side.

Deservedly, there is a place for one of Rangers’ opponents from the weekend, though. For all the visitor’s attacking deficiencies, Dundee defended resolutely for 70 minutes, while a man short.

In recognition for their efforts, Genseric Kusunga gets a spot in the dream team’s back three. He was one of many Dundee players who won more than his fair share of aerial duals, and resolutely refused to let Rangers through.

Perhaps surprisingly, there was no place for Gers loanee, Ryan Hardie, in the front three, despite his match-winning goal for Livingston in his first start of the season.

Looking ahead to next week, Rangers will hope to be better represented.

After two poor results, it may take a special individual performance against Hamilton at Ibrox, to get the side up an running again.
