Lovenkrands hoping for 2018 repeat for Rangers Academy in Czech Republic

Rangers Academy coach Peter Lovenkrands has admitted that the Gers development squad are excited ahead of the Viktoria Plzen tournament in the Czech Republic this weekend – and the Gers legend hopes they can replicate last year’s success.
Lovenkrands will travel with the squad ahead of the competition for the second year, which also sees West Bromich Albion, MTK Budapest, Minsk, MSK Zilina and hosts Viktoria Plzen taking part, and the Gers coach wants to see his players build on the work being done at the Hummel Training Centre.

“I was there last year as well and we won it. It is a really good tournament and I thought that the way they organise it is fantastic,” Lovenkrands told Rangers TV.
“The boys are looking forward to going back over and hopefully see if they can win it again and build on what we have been doing and the results we have had against first teams over the last couple of months or so.
“It is important that we take that into the games over there now and see if we can go and win it again.”

Rangers beat Stanislav Strunc Memorial Trophy after beating MSK Zilina 4-0 in the final last year and travel to the Czech Republic on the back of a 2-0 win over Cambridge United.
Rangers’ Academy side have been making fantastic progress in the last few years and Gers fans hope they can start seeing some progress to the first-team.
